De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis is a painful condition that affects the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist. It commonly causes discomfort when turning the wrist, grasping, or making a fist.
Symptoms:
- Pain and swelling near the base of the thumb
- Difficulty moving the thumb and wrist during pinching or grasping
- A “sticking” or “stop-and-go” sensation in the thumb
Causes:
- Repetitive hand or wrist movements
- Overuse of smartphones or gaming devices
- Lifting heavy objects incorrectly
Treatment Options:
